Lalalena: The first vibrator shaped like the clitoris
Pleasure products have been made in the shape of the penis for 28,000 years.
Now, in 2022, Cerē’s team of physicians created the first-ever vibrator in the shape of the clitoris.
Many people believe the clitoris is only composed of the glans, since that's the only part we see. But the bulk of the clitoris (the bulbs and crura) extends beneath the skin, and fills with blood during arousal. You can read more about clitoral anatomy here.
The Lalalena fits against the body like a glove and stimulates the entire clitoris, not just the glans.
Dr. Marashi and Dr. Lovie created the Lalalena to encourage people to continue the conversation about clitoral anatomy.
What’s new in the conversation about clitoral anatomy?
Dr. Blair Peters, a surgeon at the Transgender Health Program at Oregon Health & Science University, studied the dorsal nerve, which provides sensation to the clitoris. The team of researchers found that there are an average of 10,280 nerve fibers in the clitoris! The previous estimate (only 8,000 nerve fibers) was based on a 1976 book referencing a study on cows.
10,280 nerve fibers in the dorsal nerve of the clitoris!
Dr. Peters presented these findings at the ISSM/SMSNA Scientific Meeting in October 2022.
